We fill our sachets as they are ordered, which keeps our lavender and other fillers fresh as we use them.
But from time to time throughout the year ...
1 - We come up with new products which require sachets for picture taking purposes, 2 - Or we may have our sachets in a craft show, which would require some to be made ahead of time.
Either way, these sachets are fresh, and you will love their aroma every bit as much as any others that we sell.
It's just that we will not be tearing any unsold sachets open to reuse the contents, whether it be lavender or mint or coffee.
That would be a terrible thing to do.
So we are offering these sachets to you at clearance prices so that we can clear them from our inventory, and start fresh for the new year.
The sale is going on in Our Attic, so check up there for some incredible year end prices.
We trust that you will all have a safe AND enjoyable New Years Eve

Navigation Updates
We have just finished updating our navigational system a bit.
We hope that this will help in getting around on LittleFrenchBoutique.com.
Part of what we did was to ... 1) Simplify our category pages, and 2) Add a "More Information" link with a title tag to most of our product pictures, making the path to the product purchase page a little more clear.
Because so many of our sachets offer variations to them (such as colors, hanging ribbons, etc.), we cannot offer the sachets for sale on the home or category pages.

Mint Sachet
 Mint Fragranced Linen Sachet |
We took the "Robin's Egg" colored linen sachet from the Clair Collection, and filled it with Spearmint leaves (and flax seed) to make the perfect mint fragranced sachet.
And just like the Clair Collection, the Mint Fragranced Linen Sachet has a ribbon sewn into the seam, which is then tied in an attractive bow.
The beauty of this is that if the bow comes untied somehow, the ribbon won't be lost from the sachet.

These pretty little white flowers are Candytufts. Although the name does not originally denote candy (About.com has a good article "about" Candytufts), they certainly are delicate enough to to give that sweet impression. Easy to take care of, the candytufts make great plants to edge your garden borders or walkways.

 "Bright, Cheerfull Poinsettias" |
Cream Poinsettia Christmas Sachet
We came across this bright and cheerful Christmas pattern, and it turned out to be a beautiful Christmas sachet.
Adorned with vibrant red poinsettias highlighted in gold, and set off with green leaves behind, along with other Christmas decorations, all set on a pleasant cream background.
Add the wonderful scent of lavender, and you have the perfect Christmas sachet.
You can also get this festive sachet filled with our Christmas blend of spices for a more traditional Christmas fragrance.
This is a blend of cloves, cinnamon and lavender.
The fun thing about these sachets is that they come with a hanging ribbon wrapped around the sachet. So you can hang them from the Christmas tree, mantle, doorways, arches, windows, cabinets, door knobs, and anywhere else your imagination will come up with.
As the Christmas seasons go by, you will be surprised at how long the lavender sachets hold their fragrance. Simply give the lavender sachets a squeeze from time to time to release the precious oil contained in the lavender buds.
And of course, they make great Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers.

White Azaleas
Virginia is blest with the grace and beauty of azalea flowers in the spring of the year.
All year you can see azaleas as hedge and border plants, or simply as big leafy bushes in back yards, filling in and being quite useful at that sort of thing.
But in the spring, all these unassuming bushes explode with color. And not just one color either. Many, many colors.
It's amazing to see how the countryside can change so. Of course, the dogwoods are blooming, along with a thousand other different flowers, but the azaleas just seem to set the landscape ablaze with beautiful shades of color, from the white pictured here in this blog, to yellow, pink, orange, mauve, violet and so many more.
Bringing a goldmine of color and beauty, it's no wonder that the arrival of the azaleas are celebrated the way that they are.
Our MerchantCircle.com Page
|
 |
|
LittleFrenchBoutique.com has discovered a bit of a gold mine in the web world, too.
We have read all some of the negative things posted online by folks about Merchant Circle, but that seems to be with anything. It does take a little bit of effort to have a somewhat decent MC page. We wanted ours to be a "reflection" LittleFrenchBoutique.com.
In the end it has developed into another great way for folks to find us.
It would seem, that if your business is service orientated, without the need of a platform to sell your products, that you could get away with using only Merchant Circle.
We have noticed a few Merchant Circle businesses that had their own websites, found Merchant Circle, and then discovered that their MC page was more effective than their website, only to let their website go.
One of the nice things about Merchant Circle is that you can start out with them for free. They do post their Google ads on your page, but that is a small price to pay for what you receive. As time goes on, you may want to purchase one of their packages, but this is not mandatory.
|
 |
We are happy that we found them, and we enjoy our little MC community that we have found ourselves in.

Wisteria
Sporting their dangling cluster of flowers in beautiful shades of lavender, wisteria is a popular ornamental vine.
Anybody who has grown wisteria will tell you that this plant loves to reach out and touch somebody. Somebody, something, anything, and everything it can rap its little tentacles around.
So needless to say, as beautiful as wisteria can be, even though they grow so easily, they require much work and love to keep them "corralled" and under control.
Being a vine, it is possible to create a very beautiful cover with wisteria, both as a backdrop or overhead.
It is hoped that our college bound kids will grab a hold of everything they can get their minds wrapped around, with even more voracity than the wisteria.
To help promote "higher learning" through the natural relaxation of our lavender sachets aromatic fragrance, we are extending our Back to School Sale through the end of the month (Tuesday - August 31, 2010)

Ageratums & New Lavender Sachet
We have a shaggy looking little flower out front that looks much like it came out of a Dr. Seuss book.
Bright little shaggy heads all bunched together in a cluster, in flossy lavender blue hues.
They are called "Ageratums" (ă-jer-ā-tŭms).
|
 |
Some folks like them because they are so easy to grow. TOO EASY! They tend to grow like weeds, with almost no help, needing pulling quite often to keep them under control.
Whether a weed or a flower, depending on your perspective, they are pretty little flowers, with a pleasant lavender color.
The perfect color to introduce our new Lavender Sachet in Lavender with Victorian Style Lace.
A beautiful lavender filled sachet, complete with a hanging ribbon. With its Victorian style lace, it is perfect for your dresser drawers, closet hangers, and door knobs, even to hang from your bureau mirror or to place on a doily for all to see.

| More Triple Orange Daylilies |
 |
With the dazzling presentation of color that the triple orange daylilies put on, and the seemingly forceful amount of energy that emanates from their brilliant hues, it is amazing to watch as they bloom again and again under the mounting intensity of the sun.
Truly a joy to have in the garden, these daylilies are all the more remarkable with their delicate, sometimes ruffled petals.
And the way that their petals form three different layers, looking like three separate flowers stacked within each other, lends to their striking beauty.
Our 3x4 organza lavender sachets can be revived again and again with a simple squeeze, and they bring a beautiful array of colors all their own, from bright orange and red to maize and gold, with many colors in between.

Triple Orange Daylilies
As the summer begins to heat up, the brilliant orange daylilies, with their blazing orange hues, explode onto the landscape with a firestorm all their own.
Many times the color orange is associated with the fall and harvest season, but the bright cheerful orange displayed by these triple orange daylilies is so full of life and energy that they remind us of new beginnings.
New beginnings with a "passion!"
In much the same fashion, our Orange Peal and Cinnamon Soy Candle offers a hearty fragrance that seems to bring your home to life.

Stargazer Lilies
Our Stargazer lilies always love to put on such a dazzling show.
They have become such common lilies, partly because they are so easy to take care of, and partly because they are so beautiful.
With their large pink and white flowers (that have red spots diffused into the pink), and their wonderful sweetly fragranced aroma, they are hard not to love!
The beautiful Stargazer lilies remind us here at LittleFrenchBotuique.com of La Belle Louisiane™ Soy Candles, with a beautiful blend of fragrances from the Southern Louisiana flowers and grasses, with just a hint of strawberry :-).

Iris
The iris is such a common flower with such an uncommon beauty.
When you take a moment to pause and study the intricate details and coloring of an iris flower, you almost feel as though this plant was meant only for the tropics. Yet it has been designed with hardy features, so that we can enjoy its beauty and splendor from many of our own back yards.
With our natural and ivory colored linen lavender sachets, we offer a variety of different colored ribbons that are tied around the lavender sachet. And one of the colors offered is iris :-).
Beautiful sachets, each made special by its own unique color of ribbon.

Rose of Sharon with busy little bee |
Pink Rose of Sharon
With pink petals that are "almost" violet, the red center of this rose of sharon flower completes the illusion of the violet color.
Open bright and early, the bees have already begun their busy day.
Bees are not the only ones who enjoy these beautiful flowers with us. There are also the japanese beetles to contend with. Unfortunately, their love for these rose of sharon flowers has nothing to do with their beauty, but more with their taste, and they are quite destructive. A most unwelcome visitor!
The pink rose of sharon flowers have a certain charm about them in the dawning early morning light, the soft light adding to the soft violet hues.
You may also be interested in our Pink Organza Cone Shaped Sachets, filled with lavender and topped with rose petals for those subtle hues :-).

  Rose of Sharon |
White Rose of Sharon
The rose of sharons are in full bloom when we come out in the morning, and as the sun begins to climb into the sky, gradually heating the air, the rose of sharon flowers wilt away, leaving only a multitude of fresh buds around it to repeat the ceremony the next morning.
Soft white petals with a delicate, almost tissue paper appearance, and a soft creamy yellow stamen in the center.
As a good thing or a bad thing, depending upon your perspective, bees love the thick pollen they find in the rose of sharon flower. Sometimes it seems as though the choices are so many and so good, that the poor bumble bees can't make up their little minds as which flower to work on first :-).
If you love the delicate and clean beauty of the white rose of sharon, you are sure to love our White Lavender Sachet with Victorian Lace.

Summer Roses
The summer heat has been beating down on us here in Virginia, and that means that the roses are in bloom.
The roses are beautiful, and it seems that the different colors and varieties are endless.
It feels like the long hot summer days are endless too.
We have just the thing to help with the heat - Hydrating Mist Rosewater from Simple Scents. With a very light, crisp lemony scent, it cools and refreshes the moment it touches your skin.

| Paperwhites |
 |
It was fun to see our Paperwhites pop up this Spring.
The lily white little flowers in big clusters are so fragrant.
Just one more of Spring's gentle surprises.
To see the Paperwhites spring up out of the ground naturally always kind of makes you wonder that they are so often thought of as "Christmas" flowers, being grown indoors, and "forced" to bloom for Christmas.
It doesn't matter, Spring or Christmas, they are a joy at either time.
And Christmas is going to be here before you know it :-).
That's one nice thing about Lavender Sachets, you can stock up on them early, without fear of them losing their wonderful fragrance!

 Blue Wild Flower |
Pretty Weeds
As bothersome as weeds can be, they can surprise us with a beauty all their own when they open their blossoms, and show us the splendor of their flowers.
It is funny, as we call them weeds with an air of irritation when we are in the garden pulling them.
But when we pause to admire the beauty of their sometimes delicate, sometimes brash blossoms, then we call them wild flowers.
Whether we view them as pretty little weeds, or as wild flowers, we can enjoy their vast variety, from size to color to texture.
In much the same way, you can enjoy our Classic French Style Lavender Sachet (Lacy), as it has a variety of flowers embroidered into its pattern, with a number of different colors. All of which have a randomness as the patterned material is cut, so that each one is different yet similiar to the rest.

| Camellias |
.jpg) |
The camellia tree in our yard seems to come alive in the spring time with big vibrant red blooms.
There literally seems to be thousands of the large round blossoms (a bit of an exaggeration, but there are a lot).
And if you can catch them with the early morning dew still on them, or just after a refreshing rain shower, the water droplets add a certain charm to the velvety red petals.
The vibrant red color of the camellia flowers is very reminiscent of our bright Raspberry colored Linen Lavender Sachet from our Claire Collection.
And with many other lively colors to choose from, you can mix and match colors too suit your own individual taste.

Bluebells
One of the delights we had popping up in our garden this past Spring was the "common" Bluebell.
Mixed in with a splash of bright color from the azalea flowers above only added the beauty.
And with its delicate light blue and lavender hues, it reminds us a bit of the of our Classic French STYLE Lavender Filled Sachets.
With their delicate colors and lace, they are perfect to freshen your drawers or even to set out for display.

 Pink Camellia |
Our pink camellia tree seems to have blooms on it from fall through winter, and on into spring.
And each pink camellia flower it produces is beautiful enough for its own post card.
That would be a lot of post cards :-).
The soft pink hues remind us of the soft pastel colors of our 3x4 Lavender Sachets. Whether it’s pink, mauve, or even rose, their pleasant colors will remind you of brighter days.

 North Carolina Daisy |
Daisies
There is something warm and cheerful about a daisy.
Perhaps it’s in the brightness of the white daisy petals, or maybe it has something to do with the vibrant yellow center.
Most likely though, it is a combination of the two.
Our daisy pictures are of the common “ox-eye” daisy (Chrysanthemum leucanthemum). These are the wild daisies you might see in a meadow or along the road somewhere.
Where ever you might find them, they are sure to liven things up a bit.
If you love daisies, then you will love our Daisy Covered Yellow Lavender Sachet
When the beauty of the daisy unites with the awesome fragrance of lavender, you have a relaxing combination with a cheerful disposition :-).

 Cluster of Tomato Blossoms |
Early Garden Blossoms
Some of the favorite blossoms to see as spring changes to summer are the tomato and cucumber blossoms.
That’s because, we know that fresh tomatoes and cucumbers will not be too far behind :-).
We love to watch as the little yellow pedals eventually fall off the tomato blossom, giving way to a tiny tomato that will take the blossoms place.
And it is fun to watch as the little cucumbers begin to form behind their big yellow blossoms.
It is amazing how that the cucumber vine can work its way up a trellis, being held securely by its spiraling tendrils as they reach and wrap around anything they can get their little tendrils around.
So, if you love the clean smell of freshly peeled and sliced cucumber, then you will love our Cucumber Melon Soy Candle
With a honeydew melon base, it is the unmistakable soft clean aroma of cucumber that you will fall in love with.

 Red Flowering Quince Blossom |
Some Old Fashioned Flowering Quince
We have some beautiful Red Quince bushes around our yard, and very early in the spring, even before their leaves appear, these bushes begin to bud.
And without the leaves to hide the vibrant red blossoms, the Quince bushes almost seem to be in fire from all the red flowers, with their brilliant yellow centers.
Whether you call this a Flowering Quince bush, a Texas Scarlet, a "Pretty Girl Bush" (as some of the old timers do), or a Chaenomeles japonica, you will enjoy its bright refreshing colors after a long winter.
During the summer months, the Flowering Quince bush sports a rich coat of glossy green leaves.
BEWARE: As pretty as this bush may be, its beauty comes at a price. Along its stem are long sharp thorns, of which you want to very careful.
At LittleFrenchBoutique.com, the bright Flowering Quince color reminds us of our latest addition to our handmade selection of sachets in our Claire Collection.
All the colors of the Isis Azalea Pink pattern seem to echo the color of the Flowering Quince.
Click here on Claire Collection for more colors and fun.

 Wild Red Columbine |
Wild Red Columbine
In our flower bed out front, we have some Wild Red Columbines growing, probably compliments of a bird passing by once upon a time :-).
And being as how they are perennials, they just keep coming back season after season. This is not a bad thing, since they are cute little flowers with their bell-like shapes.
They are also known as Little Lanterns with their bright little lights (stamens) dangling below.
To the scientific world they would be known as Aquilegia Canadensis.
Just as nature has given us this complimentary little flower, we like to pass along our "compliments" to you in the form of a Complimentary Lavender Sachet.
It is our humble opinion that one cannot have too many lavender sachets, so with every order you make from LittleFrenchBoutique.com, we send a very fragrant 3x4 lavender sachet along with it (the colors might vary from order to order, but the fragrance does not :-).

 Red Flower Carpet Rose |
Fragrant Red Roses
These red roses "appear" to be red flower carpet roses, with their rich red petals around golden yellow stamens.
However, it seems to be the general consensus that the red flower carpet rose has very little if any fragrance to it.
Our simple red roses are packed with a wonderful sweet fragrance though … almost bordering on a fruity smell (a little like a raspberry maybe?).
It is amazing, but their fragrance is very close to that of the Simple Scents Australia Australian Wild Flowers with Crushed Petals 100g (3.5 oz) Triple Milled Essential Oil Moisturizing Bar Soap.
The Australian Wild Flowers soaps smell fantastic through the wrapping when you receive them, but when the wrapping comes off, and water comes in contact with them as you work up a lather, the essence of their incredible fragrance is released.
And not only do the Australian Wild Flowers soaps smell good, but they are good for your skin also, with all natural ingredients.

| Rich Lavender Hue |
.jpg) Johnny Jump-up |
Our yard is full of Johnny Jump-ups
They grow like weeds :-). All through the grass, in the flower beds, even a couple in the cracks of the side walk.
The tiny little Johnny Jump-ups are a welcome sight. They are such tiny delicate looking flowers, and look like little minature pansys
And what makes ours so unique is their color.
Most Johnny Jump-ups it would seem are a deep purple violet color with a yellow center.
Ours have a rich lavender hue, which just happens to be a perfect comliment to LittleFrenchBoutique.com, with all the lavender colors for our lavender theme.
Of course, even with their lavender color, the Johnny Jump-ups do not have that wonderful lavender fragrance.
But since we have plenty of fragrant lavender buds, that is not an issue.
And with your very own lavender sachets, it is not a problem for you either :-).

 Honeysuckle |
The Fragrance of Wild Honeysuckle
As the fire flies begin to glow, twinkling on into the evening in ever increasing numbers, the fragrant honeysuckle begins to fade.
But before the honeysuckle disappears completely for the season, we captured some of its beauty for you on camera.
Sadly, our camera cannot capture the wonderful essence that escapes from the honeysuckle.
But on a much brighter note though, just as these pictures serve to remind us of the beauty of this nostalgic flower, so our Honeysuckle products bring its enjoyable fragrance back to us :-).
These products include ...
• Wild Honeysuckle Body Wash • Wild Honeysuckle Hand Body Cream • Wild Honeysuckle Hand Therapy Cream • 100g Wild Honeysuckle Bar Soap • Honeysuckle Soy Candle 6.75oz
We hope you enjoy them!

 Showy Evening Primrose |
Our LittleFrenchBoutique.com Wish List
One of the new things that we are especially excited about here at LittleFrenchBoutique.com is the implementation of our new Wish List.
Or rather should we say, "Your Wish List."
Now it is possible to shop online with us, and if you are not quite ready to make your purchase yet, you can save your items to the your Wish List, and then come back at a later date and move things from your Wish List to your Shopping Basket. It will save you from coming back to the site and having to search to find all your favorite items again :-).
Of course you will have to Log-In to your LittleFrenchBoutique.com account in order to have access to your Wish List. This ensures that any information you submit will STAY private.
We hope that this will make for a much easier and convenient shopping experience.
Click here on Wish List for more information.
Here are some pictures of our Pink Evening Primroses you might enjoy.
These little Pinkladies, as they are sometimes called, are hardy little plants. So much so that you have to be careful that they don't over run your garden. A little thinning from time to time keeps them in check pretty well. And they are worth the effort.
The pollen will sometimes get so thick inside the flower that if you get your nose too close while smelling them, it may leave a yellow smug on your nose. Just like yellow butter :-). So they are known as Pink Buttercups also.
You may find them with the perennials at the local nursery under their more formal name - OENOTHERA SPECIOSA.

 Blue Hydrangea |
Another Busy Month Past
Our hydrandrea's are in full bloom now, with their beautiful flowering heads shaped like great colorful snowballs.
Pleasant reminders of the not so distant past when there was a blanket of snow covering them.
WOW! The month of May was busy.
Our website provider (StoresOnline) had recently made some positive changes to their website builder, and updating our website to reflect the changes turned into quite a job.
But it is "finished," and we are very happy with the final result (a website is never "finished," but ever evolving).
With much the same appearance as before, it has a familiar look, but with a much more efficient operating system.
So with much to share and many new products and ideas in the works, we look forward to keeping you posted on "Our Blog."
